Facebook updates on Twitter

If you’re a Twitter fan and you already follow Yoocasa on Twitter, this post is for you. Otherwise, it’s not too late to follow Yoocasa on Twitter.

Since yesterday morning,as soon as we publish anything on Yoocasa’s Facebook page, you are instantly updated on Twitter. This new functionality of Facebook is really going to help us a lot. Indeed, before that, we had to reproduce the same information on these both sites, manually… So, it is for us a real improvement and for you the certainty that you won’t miss any news.

With a broader perspective, it’s also the first time ever that Facebook allows any information entered in a Facebook account to be published outside. Before, Facebook was like a huge information black hole, where anything entered wouldn’t go out anymore. It’s one step in the right direction, but their is still a long way to go before open information sharing. For exemple, this new syndication between Facebook and Twitter is only available for public Pages used by companies and celebrities, but it’s not available for standard Facebook accounts. Let’s hope that the acquisition of FriendFeed by Facebook is also a sign of Facebook openning up to the rest of the world.
