Yoocasa in Mondial Air Ballons

Posted on August 22, 2009 by Axel dans Out and about

Yoocasa was presented to the public at Mondial Air Ballons 2009 in Lorraine.

Mondial Air Ballons 2009

This international event is the biggest hot-air balloon gathering in the World with 863 hot-air balloons and more than 400 000 visitors, during the last week of July every 2 years.

What is the link with Yoocasa, you could ask…

Well, the Meurthe et Moselle département local council is very active in promoting the Internet and its new usage for general public. The council in this département has a strong belief in the benefit of new technologies especially to prevent isolation and create cross-generations’ link.

So, the association Aux Frontières du Pixel was in charge of a booth showing different new usage of web technologies in everyday life. Hence the presence Yoocasa on the booth as one of the typical example of how Internet can help families to keep the links alive.

A few computer were on the booth equipped with a webcam and a Yoocasa account to enbale visitors to try out a pre-release of Yoocasa, which was not yet released officially. It was a perfect occasion for us to get some feedback, all very enthusiastic. We have also been able to identify some usability issues, but in general, less than we expected.

I wanted to personally thank Thomas and the “Aux Frontières du Pixel” team for this very nice opportunity.
